Love, Food, Love (2014)

Love, Food, Love (2014)

written and directed by Robert Karimi
with special guests John Castro, Leticia Hernandez-Linares, Tomas Riley, Jessica Lopez Lyman and  more

February 14- 16, 2014

Love, Food, Love was equal parts cooking show and theater performance, and above all, an interactive experience where audiences connected around our love of food, our stories, and the similarities among our different cultures. As his alter ego Mero Cocinero, Robert Karimi served up his distinctive brand of humor, good recipes, stories, and tips on eating better. Using theater, storytelling, and cooking together, Karimi and The People’s Cook remind us of the joy of eating and all the cultural rituals embedded in sharing meals.

This project is made possible by support from the National Performance Network (NPN) Performance Residency Program. For more information: www.npnweb.org.

Additional support provided by: Adobe, Applied Materials, ArtPlace America, the Ford Foundation, powered by SV Creates, a Cultural Affairs grant from the City of San Jose, the David & Lucille Packard Foundation, the Castellano Family Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, Southwest Airlines, The Silicon Valley Community Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, James Irvine Foundation, and MACLA donors.
