November 6, 2009–January 2, 2010
Contemporary nomads, cultural disparity and invisible labor are explored in this group exhibition, which features sculpture, works on paper, and installation. These emerging artists’ work reference ideas of being bicultural, speaking spanglish, and Latin and American pop culture. Cultural Disjuncture is a broad term that reflects the subdivision that exists for many people. The resulting effects can be seen in each artist’s personal experience and artwork.
